9 Months Old

My little lover boy is nine months old, this last month came and went so quickly I didn't even realize it. Scary! August was a good month, I got to spend some real quality time with this little babe.

Strider is turning to out to be as crazy and energetic as his mother! He is crawling everywhere, getting into everything and stands (on accident). Strider loves people and is always laughing, he makes himself the "life of the party" anywhere he goes. He has been growling at his hands and toys lately and it cracks me up every time. He is starting to mimic, he can make clicking noises, stick his tongue out and blow and my favorite is when he shakes his head back and forth (like a crazy man). He loves music and will start bouncing if you sing anything or he hears anything with a beat (I guess he gets that from his Dad). I am nervous for him to walk, I am not sure I can handle living with a human who is busier than me haha.

I love motherhood and I am learning a lot through all the challenges and unknowns. I wouldn't say this has been an easy year for our family but without a shadow of a doubt this year has been filled with more love than I knew existed. Between my husband and I running our own businesses, marriage, religion, life challenges and Strider it's been busy but I feel that through all these things I am finding who I want to be. I can feel myself becoming "her", the woman I have dreamed of being since I was a little girl. Someone kind, patient, lovely, talented, brave and a mother who makes you feel like everything in the world is okay. I am definitely not there but I can feel myself becoming a little bit better everyday, and that counts. So far I have Strider fooled into thinking I am awesome, so that is good enough for now!

I love these little party poopers...Oh, and Happy Sunday babes!

Making Home-made Baby Food

I won't pretend, my child does not eat homemade baby food everyday but I do my best to make as much as I can. I read lots of reviews on different kitchen gadgets and I finally took the plunge and splurged on the BabyCook and I freaking love it ! Today I got brave and played with some new fruit/veggies combo and Strider had two favorites.

I love these spoons! My best friend told me about them and they are shaped just perfect and priced even better. Check them out

I love these as well, great for when the baby is learning/wanting to self feed. Check them out.

The Last Hurrah

So we have not been super public about this but my husband and Father-in-Law are opening up another business. To be exact, the family business is vacuum and sewing machines. The new location is in Hurricane, Utah and is opening next week (eeeeeeeh!). Which probably means I will live there one day. (I don't know how I feel about it yet) anyways, we are very excited for this new business. But new business means long hours and few vacations so today was our last minute, final Hurrah before everything changes.

We last minute decided to take off to Vegas and swim, sleep, eat and go to a concert. For the next couple years we will be busy running my business, his business and our little family. (Heaven help us haha) So here is to a bright future, taking risk, long hours of work that will pay off and family!!

Things I want to remember from today 8.6.14
1. His funny faces
2. Today he found his tongue (a little over due)
3. How he never tires of the pool
4. His laugh
5. Four new teeth coming in (maybe I want to forget that haha)
6. Quality family time
7. That I love spending time with my husband

8 Months Old

Eight months old today and I seriously love this age. Some days I think to myself, I need to write that down so I will remember that moment. This is my attempt of "remembering the little moments".

*little hands slapping the tile floor in an attempt to follow Mama into the other room
*Strider in a white Hanes T-shirt so big it comes to his knees
*the way he stands in-between my legs and looks up at me while I eat, begging like a puppy
*how happy he gets when it's bath time
* the way he tickles my face when I rock him to sleep
*how excited he is to see his Teddy Bear
*his little chubby legs
*the first time he crawled and I was changing his diaper and he flipped around and crawled away naked
*his little raspy voice
*the way he looks at his Daddy
*how much he loves balloons

I love you Strider John. Try to stay little.

A little Sunday message, Happy Sunday!

Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels.

Hello world, I'm Elizabeth Faye!

      Hello world, I'm Elizabeth Faye!

This is my first official post on my new blog (eeeeeeee), so I am going to give a little background on me. So, I am actually Elizabeth Manuele, my middle name is Faye but I have gone by Elizabeth Faye for my business for years. I like to pretend that I am awesome enough to have a stage name.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a wife, a mother, a hairdresser, a business woman and now a blogger. Oh, and I live in Saint George Utah. Yes, starting a blog is a very stereotypical thing for me to do. I also wear maxi skirts and wear cardigans occasionally, shoot me!

I have a really weird life story that I will spare you the details of, but basically I was a really bad child and got sent away. Boys, trouble, drugs, trouble, blah blah. Dropped out of high school to be mentored at an awesome, fancy salon called Kelly Cardenas Salon (at 16) in Las Vegas and then went to school to be a hairdresser. I had a lot of opportunity with that company. Performed doing hair everywhere, told my story on stage as inspiration to other hair students, traveled to Germany to do hair, worked on a snoop dog video and lots of other awesome stuff. Basically my heart wasn't in it in the end. I wanted kids, a husband, a garden and a mortgage. So bam, bam, bam! Really though, it happened about that fast. So at the time I parted ways with that company I was in Chicago working and I left and moved to good ol Saint George, Utah to live in my best friend's bed and figure out what the hell to do with myself.

I did pretty good for being a crazy eighteen year old with a lot of insane ideas floating around my stupid little eighteen year old head. Basically , I had a lot of fun, built a cliental out of thin air, I became a teacher at the local hair school and learned how to work for myself. This is where I learned that I had a entrepreneur side of me, a side of me that I loved and that I loved so much my ideas kept me up at night with excitement.

The greatest thing that came of all this was my full conversion to the LDS church. This changed my life forever. I am forever thankful for all the people who came in and out of my life at this time-they led me to where I am today.

All these things led to meeting me husband. We met and four months later got engaged and four months later got married in the Saint George temple. We know we are crazy, but crazy happy right, so who cares! Then (apparently four is my lucky number) ...four months later I found out I was pregnant. So, it has been a crazy ride but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I now work for myself and rock it out only behind the chair and my husband is going to be a fire-fighter and planning on doing the family business- vacuum and sewing machine store (glamorous, I know). The store is super mom and pop style and he loves it.  So we are just figuring out our lives, and raising our hilarious son and trying to soak up every moment.

If my heart could be captured in pictures, I am pretty sure it looks like that.
Thanks for stopping by!
