Halloween Costume Ideas// DIY Pinata

Hello babes, let's just say I am really getting into the Halloween spirit this year and I am not mad about it at all! I feel a tiny bit crazy and a lot bit ridiculous posting this but what is Halloween for if not to be a lot bit ridiculous. So here we go with this easy peasy and very cute DIY Pinata Costume...

two pieces of paper each in blue, red and yellow 

  scissors & hot glue guns 

sprinkles in fiesta colors 

bondage glue

Once you cut the paper so 3/4's of it is fringy cut the strip into a couple inch wide sections. It is easier to glue it on the party hat that way. 

Okay, on to makeup...yes I am using SPRINKLES and YES it stays on while you blink blink away. The trick is to use Bondage glue !! I tried many things to get these babies to stay on really good and this stuff works wonders. My only real tip is: it works best if there is no makeup on your eye before you apply the bondage glue.  Just apply and take a handful of sprinkles and rub it on by dipping your eye into your hand. TADA!!!

  I paired my Pinata Costume with a comfy tunic and leggings. I have to take a second to talk about these leggings, they are the worlds most comfy leggings! The brand is Lula Roe and you by them in any color or pattern by contacting my girl Ashley here. (The Tunics are bomb too!)

Half Homemade// Witch Party Hats

Let's be honest , who has time to make everything from scratch?! I saw this witch hat garland at my local Michaels and I instantly thought...MINI WITCH PARTY HATS !!!! Perfect for your next Halloween party and your kids will love it as much as you do (maybe, but at least you will love it). 

1.Any sort of stretchy string will do, something like this

2.And use Stitching needles

Little Lucy turns One

    

Little Lucy turned one today. Lucy is the daughter of one of my closest friends. We are lucky enough to have married men who nerded out together in high school and now we spend more time together then they do. We also have babies only four months apart, so basically it's awesome! Today Mckayla and I threw a little birthday bash for this pretty babe. 

        

*The "Happy Birthday" banner was made by using Cricut.
*The "Lucy" letters were (thrown together last minute) but I just cut out the letters from old boxes and used the Cricut to cut circles in many sizes. Then hot glued and cut off the unwanted edges.
*The stationary is from the Poppytalk line at Target that is completely to die for!
*Everything else was homemade and handmade by Lucy's Mommy.

Lucy was such a lady, her smash cake consisted of her picking the blueberries off and eating them. Love this tiny little one. 

The Brand Market LA

Last month I had the pleasure of attending the Brand Market Los Angeles. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a workshop for creatives. Teaching tips and tricks on how to use social media professionally , blogging 101, Iphone photography and lots of other goodies.

I had the opportunity to be mentored by the Founder of the Brand Market Anna Liesemeyer . As well as the oh so creative and vibrant Kelly Lanza and the inspiring Caitlin Crosby founder of The Giving Keys and her right hand woman Brit Moore  .

   

   

For those of you who know me, know that hair has been what I eat, sleep and breath the last five years. I am now taking my business to another level, online! I am sharing my training, knowledge and tips through blogging. I have spent many hours perfecting my craft and am always looking to expand my knowledge so I am excited to share what I know on a wider platform.

I learned so much from this training, and am so thankful I made the leap of faith to attend. A big thank you to all the women I met and had the opportunity of being inspired by. Also, Kelly Lanza has the studio out of my dreams. I was pretty much a giddy little girl in a candy shop. (Quite literally!)
